Pam Torno

Co-Creator, Host/Writer

Select Five was born out of Pam’s music obsession. She’s an avid record collector, a DJ, a photographer, and a seasoned media professional who’s written and produced live TV and digital content for ABC7 News, Current TV, Discovery Communications, PBS Digital Studios, and PBS’s Independent Lens. Kate Sullivan

Co-Creator, Producer

Select Five brings together two of Kate's passions: a love of music and a career rooted in audio production. Kate has played guitar for decades, minored in music, studied audio storytelling at Salt, produced live daily talk shows for Air America Radio and XM Satellite Radio, and co-created/produced a comedy podcast for Wolfpop/Earwolf. Her media experience also includes work for Current TV, ITVS, and Pandora/SiriusXM.

Brian Douglas

Technical Producer

Both Brian's career in audio production and his personal record collection can be traced back to his days of making hip hop beats in the basement of his mom's house. For close to three decades he has helped craft audio content across music, comedy, and television with credits ranging from Sony Music, Showtime Networks, Sirius-XM Radio, Audible, Pandora and more.

Shirin Raza & Daniel Gahr

Co-Owners, Bar Shiru

Bar Shiru is the Bay Area's first hi-fi vinyl listening bar focused on jazz as the musical jumping off point. Featuring records played in their entirety on an analog, vinyl-centric sound system in a space built with acoustics as a top priority. We sincerely believe in the connective power of music and hope to use it as a force for good.
